What is constructive dismissal?

Normally, if an employee quits they are not entitled to any severance.

An exception is constructive dismissal.  A constructive dismissal is when the employer has fundamentally altered your job, or made working so intolerable, that the Courts will treat you as if you had been fired without cause – which means that you are entitled to severance.
