What should I do if I have been fired?

Don’t do anything you might regret.

If you are a unionized employee, be sure to contact your union and discuss with them whether you want to grieve your dismissal.

If you are a non-unionized employee, your options will depend on what reasons were given for ending your employment, whether you have a written contract and what severance (if any) was offered.  Importantly, talk to a lawyer before signing anything, otherwise you might sign away important rights.

Keep track of all jobs you apply for, post termination – such records may be important if the matter proceeds to a lawsuit.
